Category: Combined Heat and Power Project
Kanchanaburi Bio-Energy Co., Ltd., in partnership with Rajburi Sugar Co., Ltd. (Kanchanaburi Branch), generates electricity from biomass fuel. The power plant is strategically located adjacent to the sugar mill to streamline the management and logistics of biomass fuel and generated energy between the two facilities, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
The facility utilizes advanced production technology powered by high-pressure steam, recycling energy throughout the sugar manufacturing process to maximize energy efficiency and minimize loss. Driven by a modern semi-automated Distributed Control System (DCS), the plant operates on a high-efficiency, low-energy model.
It features an installed power generator capacity of 35 MW, supplying 8.0 MW of electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) under a VSPP, Non-Firm contract with a Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme. The Commercial Operation Date (COD) was November 28, 2017.
